Yoga & Breathwork
Morning and evening asana practices, held in breathtaking outdoor spaces, means very day is opportunity to reconnect with body, breath, and nature.
Designed for all levels, we offer a combination of dynamic flows, restorative poses, and meditation practices.
Practicing yoga in the African bush is a unique experience that enriches the mind-body connection. Surrounded by natural beauty and the gentle sounds of wildlife, each session encourages a heightened sense of awareness and grounding.
Morning and Evening Yoga Sessions
Each day begins with an invigorating sunrise yoga session, set in a serene outdoor location. The morning classes are designed to awaken your energy and set a positive tone, with a focus on gentle stretching, mindful movement, and breathwork. These sessions aim to honor the natural rhythms of the body, leaving you feeling centered, refreshed, and ready to embrace the day.
In the evening, we offer restorative yoga that’s slower and more meditative. As the sun sets over the horizon, you’ll be guided through gentle poses that promote relaxation, help release tension, and aim to seal the day in a state of tranquility.
Suitable for All Levels
Our yoga sessions are inclusive, welcoming practitioners of all levels—from beginners to seasoned yogis. Our skilled instructors provide guidance to ensure that each movement aligns with your unique body and ability, creating a supportive environment that encourages you to deepen your practice at your own pace. Every guest is encouraged to listen to their body, exploring postures with an open heart and an inquisitive mind.
Pranayama
Complementing our asana practice, our pranayama or breathwork sessions include a range of pranayama techniques to support mental clarity, balance, and energy flow:
Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath): A powerful and invigorating breathing practice, Kapalabhati uses short, forceful exhales to cleanse and energize. Practicing Kapalabhati in the early morning helps clear the mind, increase vitality, and awaken your energy for the day.
Box Breathing: Also known as Four-Square Breathing, this pranayama practice involves equal counts of inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding. Box Breathing is a grounding technique, helping to calm the mind, reduce stress, and bring a steady, balanced rhythm to your breath and thoughts.
Yogic Breathing (Three-Part Breath): Also called Dirga Pranayama, this gentle breathing technique expands each part of the lungs, bringing fullness to your breath. Practicing Yogic Breathing brings a sense of relaxation and harmony to the body and mind, promoting deep relaxation and connection with the surrounding environment.
Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing): This balancing pranayama technique alternates the breath between nostrils, creating equilibrium in body and mind. Practiced at sunset, Nadi Shodhana helps transition from the day’s activities to a calm evening state, readying you for restful sleep.
Our hope is that with each practice, you’ll find yourself breathing a little deeper, moving with a little more ease, and discovering a renewed sense of well-being that flows into every part of your life.
